Organized table top sorter

Task Sort of thing

There are many reinventions happening around the office this month. Its been a month of renovation and rejuvenating. (aka Painting) Walls have changed their hues, items have shifted and furniture has been ordered. Big changes happening around here. My desk found a new home and paper sorting and new organization systems are being put in place. I will give you low down on that in a later post. For nowm I have an organization "tid bit" to share with you.

Tagged an eyesore

I realize that a clean desktop is the least of your worries when you're reinventing your space, but Im an anxious person. I can't help but put my desk together. Not that I'm a work junkie, I'm just excited to be creative in my new space. Even in the midst of paint fumes and shifted paperwork I managed to get my desk in working order. It's not close to where it needs to be but it will do for now.

The first challenge of my new space is the lack of it. Due to my cozy desk I have to re-think my organization, ease of use, and recycling needs. So I trashed many unecessaries and can easily get to my pens, stapler, and general desk items. Then I it stared at me! My first eyesore challenge, my desktop paper sorter. YUCK!

I dub it my horrible sorter. It actually is a monitor stool but I seldom use things for what they are. Anyway, this sorter worked before but I didn't see its ugly face since it was behind my phone, but now it stares at me from behind my monitor. This ugly thing isn't making me happy. So I turned to Pinterest, like the pinterest junkie that I am, to find a pretty solution. I found this really pretty sorter. Well it isn't a sorter. It is a Magazine holder with vertical file folders. Here is the pinspiration and the answer to my ugly sorter problem.

This project turned out great thank you to Pinterest. Well, Before you, Pin With Us!

Check out the "Pin"spiration to the left. This picture was pinned by Emily Howey and you can find it in her Filling Board. Isn't it creative? In this picture the filing system was created by using a cardboard box. I thought about it, but I really just need my storage box now and time wasn't something I wanted to spend in recreating this system. So I came up with a solution.

Here's how ...

My shopping list consisted of a pretty magazine holder as well as folder to create separators. I scurried to Target (they always have pretty things there) to find my magazine holder. As I was looking for any standard folder to be used as labeled separators, I found these..
Vertical backpack folders? Wow Target, Right on cue! Sorry, little things excite me.

Well ofcourse! There was no need to modify these in any way. Touchdown! OK well, I still modified them. What can I say its my nature. (giggles)
Don't worry it was a minor adjustment. I used small sticky notes to label the tabs. That way I can just change out the sticky notes depending on my storing needs. That's it! No biggie.

What do you think? Was this an improvement? Could you use one of these on your desk? I hope so because it works like a charm and it's oh so pretty. Let me know what you think? I'm always open to constructive criticism or plane old love.
Keep it simple, keep it creative, keep it real..fun!
                                      Best Regards, Cisne

Organized mess

Having a piled on, over filled and stuffed into organization system that is one (hot) mess? Refuse to return to beeing just that. Yes many of us are or may have been, at one point in our lives, a hot mess. I, for one, refuse to return to that!  Continuously strive to maintain an orderly, organized, seperated and (god help us) labeled organized mess. Being an organized mess and leaving the "ugh's" behind and replacing them with "ooh nice" and "hi fives" is well worth it.

Practice....Practice....Practice

Beeing an organized mess isn't easy though, it takes practice. Especially when this organization requires that all those bulky, too many but need all of them kind of items find their way into bins, drawers, and possible trash spots. Although the idea of selling, gifting or plain old trashing items may pose somewhat of a pshycological challenge it may hinder our ability to succeed with our overall goal and view of ourselves. Sounds intense? Not to worry you aren't doing it alone. I'm here to tell you that thi sjourney of ours is a liberating step that will help you grow wings and find liberation. Organization isn't an overnight process and it takes practice. By tackling one eyesore at a time we too can be an organized mess.

One small stride for organization, one large step for liberation..Craft it so!

NEW Perspective

Each New Year inspires a new perspective and if you are like me you are excited to make waves in 2013.
I'm personally looking forward to purchasing a NEW Microsoft Surface as well as sketching up some fun invitations, and spending time with friends and family. Most of all, I can't wait to live the moments that will take my breath away. The best part of these moments is that we can record them or snap a shot for our albums. Yay, I love technology! These are a few shots I would love in my photoalbum. I came across these great photos when I opened my Pinterest of the week e-mail today. I was quickly captivated by Alison Vandehei's photography of couples board. The photography is beautiful and I had to give kuddos to the photographers and their great eye for fun photos. Don't worry "Kuddos" is a good thing. Two thumbs way up in my book.

Flagged

I want to be flagged for some good Lovin like this couple. This is a great picture of simple yet fun elements that make you want to say aww! I find this pose a necessity in any great photo album. Photograph by: Dainty Blue
A simple, I love this photo wouldn't do. I was intrigued Sooo....I had to do a little digging up of the fabulous photographer of this creative shot. Her name is Maritza and when you visit her site you get the overall feel of her lens insight; clean, authentic and filled with the hearts song. Not only does she say so herself, I completely agree! Her work is fabulous and she has a great eye for natural feelings as they are reflected in her shots. There you have it if you are in search of a great photographer feel free to say hello to Maritza, I'm sure she will love to accommodate your every photography needs.

Hearts Song

As I continued "paroozing" Alison Vandehei's couple photography board I came across another photo that I love for its element of fun and the diverse ways you can use this photo taken by Big Bang photography.

I realize this is not a typical couple photo and this is the reason why I loved it. One look at this photo and my mind runs wild with many ways to use this photo; engagement announcement, Save the dates or as a daily reminder of love to be taped on your loved ones windshield. These are only a few ways that you can use this photo, but I'm sure there are tons of things you can do with this fun shot.

"live" shot

As I continued to admire these photographs I can't help but wonder what other great shots will come about this year. I'm rea;lly loving all of these feel this new wave of shots. Photography is moving in a new direction, a very naturally lively direction and I love it. The "typical" stand and shoot sessions seems to be behind us, thank goodness.  No offence those make great yearbook pictures but I crave shots where life happens.

I have a few ideas for my very own live shots that will be included into my photoalbum.  I want a partner in crime shot where gentleman give the lady a boost over a wall or fence.  Don't worry we won't break any laws maybe just broken falls and silly smiles. I will also include a pillow fight scene. Pretty self explanatory, but I do want to capture the fun, laughter and the feather spills. Ooh that sounds messy and awesome! I will keep you posted on those pictures coming soon. How about you, Do you have any fun ideas for fun photos. Feel free to share them below, I would love to hear your great ideas.

Be inspired to inspire . . . Love Cisne

Poppy red wedding and events

Summer went as fast as the color trail of a hummingbird on wheels. Just as hummingbirds grace us with their beautiful colors so do the seasons. Every season has a favorite color but lately I seem to favor the seasons hottest complimentary color. Ay poppy! The beautiful blooming color of Poppy red. A bold statement of red on the delicate beauty of a fun poppy flower. Inspired is the season of poppy in clothing, furniture and stationary amongst other must have items. Poppies are immediately recognizable by the attention this tone demands. May you be inspired by this bloom of its own.

In Full Bloom
Every poppy is beauty in its own, but when paired with pink, teal or marmalade it will transition into a stricking engagement. Selecting poppies as your bridal inspiration can be tough though. Many try to place this color in every element of their wedding and find themselves lost in a field of red. This isn't wrong but can be overwhelming at times. Just as a field of poppies compliments the home(photo above), your poppy elements should be a compliment to your event not the main attraction.

Homegrown Inspirition

Every bride deserves to shine in the company of her bridesmaids. Together you flourish in blooms of your own in these wonderful alternatives to a traditional bridal boutique find.

The blooms of poppy red can be incorporated or complimented into a pattern, texture or color of fabric in your bridesmaids dress selection. Comfort and boldness with a hint of sweet floral elements is some of the poppies best qualities.

Your bridesmaids will be a homegrown inspirition in these lovely bridal dresses. Not your typical bridal gowns but oh so pretty as if they were picked from the poppy fields themselves.

Transitional Seasons

Red poppies have not only hit the summer scene but it is definitely making this winter a warm and cozy one. This color is quickly adapting to the weather and finding a cozy home in the warmth of winter.

Not only is poppy red a pretty color but it is a transitional one as well. Keep warm in this pretty, delicate and warm frock perfect accesory in the breeze of fall weather. Sounds, looks and feels like a keeper. Hope you enjoy your search for your perfect poppy.
